Illustration Friday - Dusty

'Dusty'

This was my illustration for 'dusty' and at first I was unsure on what to do. I looked up the definition of dusty to see if that could inspire me and they had an example of dusty books. After looking that up I thought that I could do this illustration to represent that my pencils,pens and scalpel are slightly dusty as it's been a while since I've drawn. The background's meant to be a simplified cutting matt and i made a stencil for the pen,pencil and scalpel. I then made a stencil for the word 'dusty' and used the part I cut out to put on the background and flick flour on to get this interesting look.
After a group crit it was suggested  that I did a photogram of the image and I really like the idea of doing that and I would like to experiment with photograms and different styles of it.
