Greenwashing problem

There is an increasing rise in greenwashing by companies worldwide. Greenwashing is when they claim that their product is in some way environmentally better and they sway consumers to buy their products. This is a very dangerous habbit for companies to develop, because due to them not being able to prove these claims, consumers are now complaining because of not knowing enough information on their claims.
There has been a higher rise on money spent for advertisments including the words such as 'CO2' ,'carbon','environmental', 'emissions' or 'recycle'. This is because advertisers have noticed that being enviromentally friendly has been becoming a very important problem and the costumers will be persuaded to buy their products if they show that they are trying to cut down in their enviromental issues, however this is what greenwashing consists of when they lie about what they can do to help.
