Paul Shih

I found this artist when I took the book 'the scrapbook of contemporary illustrations' out of the library. When I quickly scanned through the book and picked out the main artists that I found interesting. Paul Shih's work is influenced by a cultural blend from Taiwan and New Zealand. His speciality of work is his making of paper diorama, where he makes plastic illustrated cut-outs and uses photographic techniques to create visually interesting images.
I personally really like his style of work and have never heard of paper diorama which is a really creative way to make images for advertisements or personal art. I looked on the internet for Paul Shih and the first link was his own website which included his portfolio, a blog which he updates almost weekly showing some of his work he's done.

These images were included in the book, all these images are example of paper diorama and I really like the way he uses the photographic techniques to focus on different parts of the scene. Most of his pieces of work are really colourful using bold and primary colours.
