Grzegorz Domaradzki

Inspiration Workshop
      Grzegorz Domaradzki pencil refresh
Grzegorz is a freelance illustrator working in Poland who was featured on a article in Computer Arts magazine. Here he writes about some of his past pieces of work, how he achieves them, how he plans them and what his favourite pieces of work is. "Although it's possible to become a great designer relying purely on software,my favourite style at the moment is a mixture of realistic-and in a way academic-pencil,or pen drawing, which is digitally remastered on my computer". During his planning part he says he can already see whether it's going to be a colour or mono piece of work right from the beginning, Domaradzki says he finds it easier to begin with pencil as photoshop he has to think ahead a couple of steps. His favourite piece of work recently was for the Omega Code project which he found online. It didn't have many guildlines apart from to have a star enclosed in a triangle and to have a theme such as religion, spirituality, mysticism etc. He firstly sketched out the half-human half-god creature and heart and then subtly photoshopped the image to give it a darker feel and then added very obvious shapes in the background to give it a edge and clear statement that it is both traditional and photoshopped work. The article includes a small box of his influences of his work in the past, hes been influenced by music, films, literature and artists and designers. One piece of work that is shown in the article is apperently influenced from the tattoo programme 'Miami Ink', where he took a koi carp which he then used to represent love and friendship.
My favourite piece of work by him is called 'Create What You Are' where he has drawn his fiancé in pencil , taken it into Photoshop and painted the words 'You' and 'Are' at the bottom and then 'it became obvious that her entire face would involve a range of colours'. I personally like the creativity he's put behind the work. He said the girl represented creativity, so instead of putting lipstick on she's using a pencil to do her make-up. The actual image is just really bright and again he's added block colours to show a clear side of Photoshop was included in the image.
